Beattie: Game could've continued
Accrington boss James Beattie felt referee James Adcock made a 'bad decision' in calling off their clash with Morecambe.
The Shrimps were down to 10-men after Alex Kenyon was sent off on the stroke of half-time for a late challenge on Peter Murphy.
There had been incessant rain throughout the game and the referee talked to both managers at the break.
However, he did re-start the match but then abandoned it after 56 minutes as the deluge continued.
"I think the referee could have taken the players off and waited a few minutes instead of calling it off immediately," said Beattie.
"It was a bad decision and I am disappointed as we had the numerical advantage with 45 minutes to play and you can hear their players are quite happy with the decision so it doesn't make us feel any better.
"I have players in the dressing room who wanted to make it three wins on the bounce, who had 45 minutes to score a goal against 10-men and who are obviously disappointed.
"The referee said about safety issues but I never saw one player slip and there is only surface water - our pitch drains quickly."
