Beckenbauer wary of Madrid
Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has warned his team about the size of the task awaiting them in Tuesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg in Germany.
Only a Karim Benzema goal separates the two sides after last week's Bernabeu encounter but the former Germany World Cup and Bayern European Cup winner predicted a nervous night for the Champions League holders.
He said: "It's not the perfect result but on the other hand Bayern Munich can be happy.
"It was only a 1-0 defeat and it could have been a two or 3-0 defeat. Real Madrid played impressively.
"They are able to score, they have Ronaldo, they have Benzema who is really a finisher and they have Bale who is very fast.
"All of these three, each one can score goals. It's a tricky and critical game.
"I hope Bayern Munich will make it. I hope they play clever enough and don't allow them to score. I think it's going to be a close game."
Beckenbauer was talking at the launch of Gazprom's Football for Friendship International Children's Social Project.
