Belfast pull clear of Steelers

The Belfast Giants stretched their lead at the top of the Elite League with a 4-3 victory over closest challengers the Sheffield Steelers.

Craig Peacock scored twice, including the equaliser to make it 3-3 in the third period, before Kevin Saurette grabbed the winner.

The win was Belfast's seventh in a row and left them 19 points clear at the top.

Elsewhere, the Cardiff Devils beat the Hull Stingrays 2-1 after a penalty shootout, the Coventry Blaze were 3-1 winners over the Nottingham Panthers, the Dundee Stars saw off the Braehead Clan 3-2 and the Fife Flyers claimed a 5-1 win at the Edinburgh Capitals.
