Berdych heading for London

Tomas Berdych has become the sixth player to qualify for the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Berdych's victory in the final of the Stockholm Open on Sunday nailed down his place in the elite eight-man field.

The Czech, who reached the semi-finals of the event last season, joins Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer in booking their spot for the event, which will be held at the O2 Arena from November 5-12.

Berdych said: "London is always a goal every season. You have to play well the whole year to qualify. It will be special for me to play there for the third year in a row."

Two places remain up for grabs during the final two weeks of the regular ATP season.

Juan Martin Del Potro and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga are currently in pole position to claim those spots, with Janko Tipsarevic the next best placed.

While Nadal a dobut due to injury, it could be that three more spots are actually still available for the prestigious tournament which last year was won by Federer.
