England Knights ran in five tries in each half to gain a 56-4 win over Ireland in the Alitalia Cup in Belfast on Saturday night.
Salford winger Jodie Broughton and South Sydney prop forward George Burgess scored two tries apiece as the Knights brought Ireland down to earth following their opening 30-18 win over Scotland in Edinburgh.
Broughton opened the scoring after three minutes and, although Mounties' Joshua O'Toole levelled the scores shortly afterwards with his first international try, the visitors added further scores before half-time through Kieran Dixon, Jordan Turner, Tom Burgess and captain Danny Houghton, with Luke Gale kicking three conversions, to lead 26-4.
Broughton added his second try to open the second-half scoring and Gale and Michael Lawrence also touched down before George Burgess touched down twice to round off the scoring.
