Bissonnette nets for Devils

NHL forward Paul Bissonnette marked his home debut with the final goal as Cardiff Devils beat Fife Flyers 4-0 in the Elite League.

The Phoenix Coyotes player scored a short-handed marker in the third period to round off a fine night's work.

Luke Piggott, Ben Davies (powerplay) and Chris Blight were also on target while netminder Phil Osaer made 24 saves to register his first shut-out of the season.

Coventry Blaze edged past Hull Stingrays 2-1 at the Skydome - gaining quick revenge for their 4-2 Challenge Cup loss at Hull Arena 24 hours earlier.

Sam Smith and Shea Guthrie put Blaze 2-0 up inside seven minutes but Dominic Osman cut the deficit, although Stingrays could not tie it up.

Tim Kraus netted the game-winning goal with 53 seconds remaining as Dundee Stars scored four final-period goals to beat Edinburgh Capitals 5-4 at home.

Neil Hay and Rene Jarolin put Capitals 2-0 ahead only for Pat Bowen to pull one back.

Marcis Zembergs (Capitals) and Stars player-coach Jeff Hutchins traded quickfire goals before Matt Baxter (powerplay) made it 3-3.

Peter Holecko nudged Capitals ahead again but Sami Ryhanan and Kraus' first goal of the season saw Stars turn it around.
