Blackwell rues missed chance

Bury manager Kevin Blackwell cut a frustrated figure after his side had to settle for a 1-1 home draw with Walsall.

Will Grigg bundled in a seventh-minute opener for Walsall, only for Dominic Poleon, on loan from Leeds, to equalise four minutes later.

Although Bury had the better chances, they failed to make it back-to-back wins after claiming their first league win on Tuesday, which took them off the bottom of League One.

"We missed an opportunity there," said Blackwell. "We should have won, we were the better team, but we didn't finish it off.

"We had about 12 shots and their keeper's made some great saves, I have to hold my hands up there. But what a difference it is now. We look as though we want to win and we can win.

"It takes time to build a team and I'm trying to do that under the pressure of trying to get results and bringing people in. We're a young side, but it doesn't mean you can't be frustrated. Andy Bishop was injured so we had to play an 18-year-old striker."
