Blanc: PSG didn't do enough
Laurent Blanc admitted his Paris Saint-Germain side did not play well enough to deserve victory over Sochaux as the strugglers delayed their opponents' title party.
Thiago Silva's own goal ensured the champagne remained on ice for PSG, with the game ending 1-1 after Edinson Cavani had put the Ligue 1 leaders in front with his 16th goal of the season.
Blanc felt his side could have done better, lamenting their profligacy in front of goal, but gave full credit to Sochaux.
"We took the lead with a lovely goal, but we couldn't put the game to bed after that," he told ligue1.com.
"Sochaux stepped things up physically and caused us a few problems. Sochaux really deserved the draw.
"It's always disappointing when you prepare for a match to try and win it and you don't do it. We have to acknowledge that we didn't do enough to win the game."
Herve Renard, whose Sochaux side are now four points away from safety with three games remaining, agreed his side were good value for their point.
"The team deserve their reward after the way they played in the second half," he said.
"We can be satisfied, even if we know that PSG were not at 100 per cent.
"We have three games left and two of them are at home so we need to continue nibbling away. A gap of four points is a lot, but it's also not too much.
"We need to win our home games and get something at Rennes. I have always believed and I believe just as strongly after this match."
