Bolasie: Pulis deserves award

Yannick Bolasie believes Tony Pulis has been the best manager in the Premier League this season, as Crystal Palace aim to claim another big scalp against Manchester City on Sunday.

Pulis took charge at Selhurst Park in November when Palace occupied a spot in the relegation zone, but with three games now remaining they have already guaranteed their survival after surging to 43 points.

A five-match winning run has catapulted them into 11th place and Bolasie says Pulis has transformed the whole club.

"He should get manager of the season for the job he has done," Bolasie told the Daily Mirror.

"It looked like it would be a very long season. But the gaffer has come in and brought a positive mentality.

"He has never been relegated and is going to keep that record. He has used all the players' different strengths well and moulded them.

"We have been on fire lately. We are going into every game feeling confident on the back of beating Chelsea and Everton and the teams around us.

"Everyone in the squad deserves credit, too, as we have been united. With the gaffer now, it seems a different changing room."

Palace's next game is at home to title contenders Man City, and Bolasie is confident they can cause another shock as they look to finish the season strongly.

"Man City is going to be another big challenge, but it could be tough for them at Selhurst," said the 24-year-old.

"I wouldn't say the pressure is off because the gaffer is relentless - he won't let anyone take their foot off the gas.

"We have won five games in a row and want to continue the run. It will be good to take another big scalp."
