Bolasie remains confident

Crystal Palace midfielder Yannick Bolasie remains confident they can avoid relegation despite their agonising last-gasp defeat at Newcastle on Saturday.

Tony Pulis' side, who claimed a point against relegation rivals Sunderland in the north east the previous weekend, looked destined for another 0-0 draw until Papiss Cisse struck in the fourth minute of added time at St James' Park.

Palace remain just three points above the bottom three, with Sunderland holding two games in hand on the Selhurst Park club, while Cardiff and Fulham have played a match more.

With upcoming fixtures against several teams around them in the Premier League table on the horizon, Bolasie believes they can steer clear of trouble.

Bolasie told reporters: "We were unlucky against Newcastle. The boys are definitely still confident, especially if we play like that.

"We've still got to play Cardiff, Aston Villa, West Ham and Fulham and are looking forward to that.

"We've been in this dogfight since the start of the season, so nothing has changed. We are relishing all the games that are left.

"The lads have been terrific. Last week we got a point at Sunderland and this week we deserved to win but got nothing.

"But we have just got to move on now and we are looking forward to next week to try and put things right."
