Bonfire stoked for Eclipse raid

Bonfire kept on track for a tilt at the Coral-Eclipse with some pleasing work at Kingsclere.

The colt patently failed to stay the 12 furlongs in the premier Classic, but Balding is confident he can reassert at Sandown on July 7.

Bonfire looked in good heart in his stretch on grass with regular lead horse and travelling companion Ispahan.

Balding said: "He's taken his race well and pleased me since Epsom.

"He's a mile-and-a-quarter horse and I'm looking forward to running him at Sandown next."
