Booth at the double for Canucks

David Booth scored twice while goaltender Eddie Lack also starred as Vancouver kept their NHL play-off hopes alive with a win over Minnesota.

Booth opened the scoring and although the teams were level at the end of the first period when Charlie Coyle equalised, Vancouver gained the upper hand as they went on to earn their third successive win 5-2.

Booth scored once again, while further goals from Zack Kassian, Daniel Sedin and Ryan Kesler meant Nino Niederreiter's effort for Minnesota was mere consolation.

The New York Rangers continued their recent good form with a 3-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Derek Dorsett, Ryan McDonagh and Dominic Moore scored in the first, second and third periods respectively to give the Rangers their fifth successive win, with Jakub Voracek denying Henrik Lundqvist a shut-out in the final two minutes for the Flyers.

Mathieu Perreault and Andrew Cogliano scored in the third period as the Anaheim Ducks came from behind to beat the Calgary Flames 3-2.

The Ducks, who have already qualified for the play-offs, went ahead through Nick Bonino, but Brian McGrattan and Jiri Hudler put Calgary in the ascendancy, only for Perreault and Cogliano to give Anaheim victory.
