Borderlescott Bullet bound
Borderlescott is set to defend his crown in the Beverley Bullet on Saturday as long as the going remains on the fast side.
The 11-year-old lifted the Listed five-furlong dash 12 months ago from stall one and pleased trainer Robin Bastiman in a workout on Wednesday.
Bastiman wanted to test the well-being of his veteran sprinter, who was denied the chance of a third triumph in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York last week when the rain came.
"If his blood's all right he'll run at Beverley. He won it from stall one last year and you do need a draw there," said the Wetherby handler.
"There doesn't seem to be much rain around so it should be fast ground which is what he wants.
"He seems OK and he did his final bit of work on Wednesday morning.
"He was a bit fresh, he went well and we were quite pleased with him, so we'll see on Saturday."
