Boss opens door to Diagouraga

Brentford boss Mark Warburton insists Toumani Diagouraga could yet have a role to play at Griffin Park this season.

Midfielder Diagouraga extended his loan spell with League Two Portsmouth for the rest of the campaign on Monday.

But the Bees have a 24-hour recall option should they need the Frenchman during the League One promotion run-in.

Warburton said: "Toumani remains a very important member of the Brentford squad.

"It is vitally important that we can call on players who are match fit if we need to.

"We have two high quality players pushing for places in midfield - Toumani and Jake Reeves - and it is imperative they get as much pitch time as possible.

"They both need to stay fit. Toumani is doing very well at Portsmouth and as and when we need him, we will bring him back."
