Botha action being investigated
Cricket Australia have ordered South African bowler Johan Botha to undergo a biomechanical analysis of his bowling action.
The 31-year-old, playing club cricket in Australia with the West End Redbacks, received a single mention of a suspected action during the interstate season, CA said on Monday.
CA rules state that all umpires must agree to a mention of a doubtful bowling action and, although the game in question has not been named, Botha has been cited.
He must undergo the test within 14 days but can play on through that period.
Botha, who has played five Tests and 78 one-day internationals for South Africa, has twice been suspended in the past, both after games against Australia.
On both occasions, though, he has subsequently been cleared of an illegal action.
