Boy, 15, arrested in Rio probe

Police investigating a racist tweet sent to Rio Ferdinand have arrested a 15-year-old boy.

The Manchester United centre-half was targeted on the social networking site during Sunday's derby win at Manchester City.

And Greater Manchester Police confirmed a teenager has now been arrested and bailed on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

Nine men are already facing prosecution over other incidents at the Etihad Stadium.

Among them is City fan Matthew Stott, 21, who had to be restrained by goalkeeper Joe Hart as he tried to confront Ferdinand on the pitch.

Ferdinand also suffered a cut to his face after he was hit by a coin thrown from the stands.

what do you think?

Think u will find Ferdinand was celebrating in front of his own fans which was next to the city fans, no one deserves to be hit with objects just because he plays for the opposite team.

Still looks like he poked himself in the eye while inciting the home crowd.

I think you people should really check your facts before spouting off, ferdinand was celebrating in front of Utd fans albeit slightly towards the corner flag, i trust you know how corners work? to his left came flying a coin, i would say it must have been thrown 30 ft? quite easy to throw a 2p 30ft. anybody who thinks he deserved to be struck by a coin is probably just as bad as the actual thrower, this is the thing about city and city fans, thrust into the limelight so quickly with no time to adapt, they lack class and are not sure how to behave.

The actions of a few idiots have been deplorable, but it's astonishing the short memories that people have. What about Craig Bellamy, downed in a hail of coins and bottles at Old Trafford a few seasons ago. He was waiting to take a corner kick. The same with Javier Garrido, who was caught by a projectile intended for Carlos Tevez, again at Old Trafford. The players were walking off the field at half time that time. To call City supporters and not United supporters smacks of serious double standards, however you look at it.

He made a point of going to the corner flag and celebrating in front of the City fans. He gives it out on Twitter and in newspapers all the time anyway. This is what incitement gets you, and the rags have a looooong tradition of incitement. YOU should check YOUR facts! And i await to see you response to when Bellamy got pelted...
