Brian has Sky Bet option

Lucinda Russell is considering options at Cheltenham and Doncaster next weekend for Bold Sir Brian following the abandonment of Haydock.

The seven-year-old is a live outsider for the Cheltenham Gold Cup following his impressive victory at Sandown last month and Russell hoped to see her charge enhance his claims for the blue riband this weekend, before Haydock's fixture was claimed by snow.

Bold Sir Brian could now take on other Gold Cup hopes in Cheltenham's Argento Chase, or revert to handicap company for either the Murphy Group Chase at Prestbury Park or the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster.

Russell said: "He'll have entries in the two races at Cheltenham and the Sky Bet at Doncaster.

"At this stage we don't know what meetings are going to be on or what the opposition is going to be like, so we'll have a look at the weather and the entries and then make a decision."

Russell also confirmed fellow Peter Marsh hope Silver By Nature, sidelined by injury since running down the field in the 2011 Grand National, will now likely head for the Sky Bet Chase.
