Briar tops Bartlett contenders

Briar Hill tops nine possibles from the Willie Mullins stable for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham on Friday.

A total of 33 horses remained in the three-mile contest at the six-day confirmation stage.

Last year's Champion Bumper hero has won all his three starts over the small obstacles and is sure to be strongly fancied.

Mullins' supporting team consists of Faugheen, Sure Reef, Perfect Gentleman, Rathvinden, Renneti, Urano and Valseur Lido and Vautour.

British hopes could rest with the likes of David Pipe's Kings Palace and Captain Cutter from Nicky Henderson's yard.

Other interesting possibles include Deputy Dan, Champagne West, Urban Hymn and Blakemount.
