Brighton v Derby preview

Brighton look set to be without Bruno and Dale Stephens for the home leg of their Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final against Derby.

Spanish right-back Bruno missed last weekend's dramatic 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest, which snatched a top-six finish from Reading, due to a groin problem and midfielder Stephens has an ankle injury.

Former England defender Matt Upson returned against Forest despite carrying an ankle problem and he will be patched up again.

Striker Will Hoskins is available after a long-term knee problem but midfielder Andrew Crofts is recovering from a cruciate injury.

Derby boss Steve McClaren has plenty of options at his disposal.

McClaren made six changes for the final fixture of the regular season at Leeds on Saturday but a strong line-up still managed to extend the club's unbeaten run to six matches, even if their five-game winning streak came to an end in West Yorkshire.

Centre-half Jake Buxton, midfielders Craig Bryson and George Thorne, forward Jamie Ward and leading scorer Chris Martin are all strong contenders to return to the team for Thursday night's game.

Club captain Shaun Barker (knee), fellow defender James O'Connor (thigh) and midfielder Paul Coutts (knee) are the only players unavailable as they continue their rehabilitation from long-term injuries.
