Great Britain lightweights Sam Maxwell and Josh Taylor could face a box-off to decide who qualifies for London 2012.
Both reached the last eight of the final Olympic qualifier in Trabzon on Tuesday.
Boxing for England and Scotland respectively, Maxwell and Taylor each stand one more win away from qualification - unless both win, in which case they will have to fight off at a later date for the single GB berth at 60kg.
Maxwell's major international debut continued in style in the Turkish city with a fine 20-10 win over Moldova's Piotr Apostol, despite having to clamber up from a flash knockdown in the final round.
Lochend youngster Taylor kept his side of the bargain, beating Latvia's Artjoms Ramlavs 14-4. Maxwell faces the tallest order on Wednesday, against home favourite and European champion Fatih Keles.
There was disappointment for London light-flyweight Charlie Edwards, whose hopes of starring in his home Olympics were shattered by a 17-12 defeat to Bulgaria's Aleksander Aleksandrov.
