Brits placed in Chantilly

British raiders Archbishop and Coupe De Ville finished second and third respectively in the Prix Paul de Moussac at Chantilly.

Archbishop, trained by Brian Meehan, attempted to make all of the running, and was only hauled back by the victorious Xanadou inside the closing stages.

Richard Hannon's Coupe De Ville was always prominent - by contrast to the winner, who missed the break - but possibly lacked the finishing kick of the front two in the Group Three over a mile.
