Bronze wins gold at Beverley
The well-supported Rich Again was denied at Beverley as Bronze Beau took the Betfred Wishes Indian Trail A Happy Retirement Handicap.
Bronze Beau led from pillar to post under 5lb claimer Jacob Butterfield to strike by two and three-quarter lengths. The 12-year-old the race was named after was an honourable sixth.
"The horses are in brilliant form. We've had five winners since last Friday now so it's pretty amazing," said trainer Kristin Stubbs.
"The key to this horse is when he gets his own way up front.
"When something challenges him for the lead, he has a tendency to sulk."
Spencer still took the riding honours with a double on Illuminating Dream and Consign.
He made all on Illuminating Dream (11-10 favourite) to take the first division of the EBF racehorsetrader.com Maiden Fillies Stakes for trainer David Brown before pouncing late on the Jeremy Noseda-trained Consign (7-4 favourite) in the Betfred "Goals Galore" Handicap.
Division Two of the fillies' maiden went to the Clive Brittain-trained Dance Bid (22-1), ridden by Freddie Tylicki while apprentice Joey Haynes shone with a canny ride on Karl Burke's London Citizen (4-1) to land the Betfred "Double Delight" Handicap.
