Brook: I'd finish Khan off

Kell Brook has vowed to 'finish off' Amir Khan's career if their planned grudge match goes ahead.

Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that talks have begun about a possible showdown between the British pair next summer if the Sheffield fighter wins his next two bouts.

Both men claim they had the upper hand during a sparring session as amateurs and they were involved in a heated exchange on Sky Sports' Ringside programme last week.

Brook insists he has far too much power for Khan, who has been halted twice in his career, and he intends to dish out a crushing defeat to his bitter rival.

"I'm very excited, we were on Ringside the other day, having a few words and I'm ready for that fight," he told Sky Sports News HD.

"Amir Khan has been knocked out at lightweight and light-welterweight, and I'll finish him off at welterweight, no problem.

"We need to get it on now, a big blockbuster for the fans in a big stadium. It's been talked about for a while now, so it needs to happen."

Brook must firstly get past Hector Saldivia next Saturday in a final eliminator for the IBF welterweight title and he is full of respect for his dangerous opponent.

"This kid is no idiot, he's coming over here, he's had more knockouts then I've had fights, he's well schooled," said Brook. "He's moved from Argentina to train with (American trainer) Freddie Roach so he's definitely up for this."
