Terry Brown will oversee a big turnaround in playing staff at AFC Wimbledon as he bids to make the League Two play-offs next season.
Brown revealed his plans after watching his Dons side see off Shrewsbury 3-1 on the final day of the campaign.
Luke Moore's double after Byron Harrison's opener was enough for the home side despite Shane Cansdell-Sherriff's second-half effort, but after the game Brown's mind turned immediately to the job at hand this summer.
He said: "We know we're going to have a bit of a clear-out at the end of the season, I need to get five or six quality players in if I can and I need to move some players on to afford the changes that we're looking to make, but I want to keep the nucleus of the squad.
"I don't think any supporter wants to hear consolidation, the fans didn't even want to hear it last year! I won't be telling my players we're looking for consolidation, I'll be saying we'll be looking to get in the play-offs. We will try and get in the play-offs next year.
"I'm delighted with the way we've rounded off the season. Up until this game I'd remembered the last 10 minutes at Barnet and it was a horror show and I wanted to get that out of my mind."
