Bruce: Ince a great signing

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is delighted Tom Ince turned down offers from abroad to sign for the club.

Ince, 22, is one of three summer signings for Bruce, along with Jake Livermore and Robert Snodgrass.

With City's Europa League campaign starting next Thursday, Bruce is keen to add further depth to his squad, but he is thrilled to have the exciting Ince - who at one point this summer looked set to join Inter Milan - on board.

\"I've known the lad most of his life,\" said Bruce, who was a team-mate of Ince's father Paul at Manchester United in their playing days.

\"I've seen him grow up and watch him develop. He's an exciting young player. All I said to him is 'look Tom, there's plenty of time'.

\"I remember having a conversation with his dad also. His dad went to play with Inter Milan when he was 27-years-old and he found it difficult - he was an established international player.

\"For me, for Tom these next few years are the most important in his development - playing in the Premier League, week in, week out. There's not many 21, 22-year-olds playing in the Premier League week in, week out.

\"I think he thought long and hard and decided to come to us so I'm delighted about that.

\"The next part for him, as I said to his dad and to Tom, is his development, to develop as a player and enjoy his football.

\"We've done remarkably well in the last couple of years and the signing of someone like him can only help us on our way.\"
