Burke keeps it in the family
A review of the action at Hamilton, where Karl Burke recorded a 220/1 double with Baron Run and Dancheur.
Karl Burke was in excellent form at Hamilton on Sunday afternoon when he recorded a 220/1 double with Joey Haynes-ridden pair Baron Run and Dancheur.
They were both saddled by jump jockey Zander Voy, currently sidelined and who recently became engaged to Burke's eldest daughter Kelly.
Voy said: "I broke a bone in my foot when riding out for Mark Johnston about eight weeks ago. I initially started back riding out too soon but it's improving better now and I should be back on the track towards the end of October."
Football agent Willie McKay watched his blue and white colours on Donny Rover land a gamble in the nursery from his holiday base in Marbella.
The winner was backed from into 11-2 joint-favourite from 12-1 and his owner said: "We were very, very confident and the first-time visor worked a treat. He was well handicapped and I'm over the moon."
