Burnett hails Daggers' spirit
Dagenham boss Wayne Burnett hailed his side's fighting spirit after they saw off previous League Two leaders Rochdale 3-1.
Medy Elito was the star of the show as he bagged two goals, with Rhys Murphy grabbing the other, in what was the Daggers' fifth victory in their last eight games, but it was a collective effort from his side which most pleased Burnett.
He said: "The fighting spirit was there for everyone to see, and we certainly needed that against a very good Rochdale side.
"I'm so proud to be the manager of a team who work so hard for one another, particularly when our backs appear to be against the wall.
"We're up to eighth place in the table now, and who knows where we can go from here.
"We're on a terrific little run and it's all about doing our utmost to try and maintain that momentum now.
"All season we've played some good stuff and scored some great goals. It was the same here against a side who had won seven times in their previous eight games.
"It's just a great achievement for us to have secured a win like we have done, wWe knew full well just how difficult it was going to be.
"We knew there would be times when we would be up against it. But we defended superbly and looked really dangerous going forward. I'm really delighted at the moment."
