Gary Rowett insists there is no talk of promotion despite Burton claiming their highest-ever position with victory at Aldershot.
Michael Symes showed his class midway through the second half with a fantastic left-footed volley on the turn to complete a comeback after Paul McCallum had given the Shots a third-minute lead.
Just before the break Albion, who now sit second in League Two, equalised through Robbie Weir, and Rowett admitted that had been the defining moment in the game.
The Burton boss said: "The way we started the game, a little lethargically, but the goal added to our resolve.
"We did the same against Bristol Rovers, conceding early, especially away from home it gives you a mountain to climb. But as soon as we scored, the game completely changed on its head. We felt then there was only one winner.
"The way we came back from a goal down, especially with our away record, shows a real resolve. We spoke about turning our away form around.
"What's great about the group is I don't hear anyone talking about promotion - we have a strong, committed group who just want to get better. We work very hard in the week and we are trying to improve all the time. As the season has gone on we've seen a remarkable improvement.
"There's one thing that makes you more determined, that's winning games. The more you win, the more you don't want to chuck that record away. The monkey is off our backs with the away record now."
