Buttler awarded England contract
Wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler has been awarded an England increment contract for 2012-2013, the ECB have announced.
Buttler qualifies by virtue of having represented England on 10 occasions since the contract period began on October 1.
The Somerset player was in fine form during England's T20 series triumph over New Zealand and also helped them overcome the Kiwis in today's ODI encounter in Napier.
Buttler had an unspectacular start to his international career before hammering 32 off just 10 balls in the T20 win over South Africa at Edgbaston last summer.
He qualifies for the increment contract after playing in six ODIs and four T20 matches for his country since the end of last season.
ECB national selector Geoff Miller said: "This award reflects the contribution Jos has made over the last five months in the shorter formats of the game for England.
"We congratulate him on his achievement."
