Cabella happy at Newcastle
Remy Cabella believes he made a good choice in joining Newcastle United and now hopes to take his game to a new level.
Cabella moved to St James' Park from Montpellier earlier in the summer, having been linked with the cub since the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old admits that there was interest from elsewhere but says it was always his desire to go to Newcastle after hearing a lot of good reports.
He told France Football: "It was the best choice for me, the club that I needed.
"Everyone here, the club, the staff, the coach, is trusting me. They did their very best to sign me, first in January and then this summer again.
"There were others clubs interested, but I only had Newcastle in my mind.
"When I came back from the World Cup in Brazil I told my entourage, 'I want Newcastle. I don't care about the rest'.
"During the World Cup, I talked with French players that are playing or have played at Newcastle, like Yohan Cabaye, Loic Remy, Mathieu Debuchy and Moussa Sissoko, and I only heard good things about the club.
"They made me dream. They told me, 'If you go there, you will make a very good choice'."
Cabella's early experiences at Newcastle have lived up to his expectations and there have been glimpses of his talent in his first few games.
He does accept, though, that he will need to get stronger if he is to succeed in the Premier League.
"I have been told about the fans, and indeed they are great," Cabella added.
"Before I signed I received photos of the city on social networks. It also made me dream of playing on an amazing pitch. The grass here is just like a carpet.
"If I can put more physical impact in my game I know I can become better.
"When I joined the club I had a chat with the coach. I am fine here, I have great fun. I got what I wanted."
