Cala to have personal hearing

Cardiff's Juan Cala has requested a personal hearing with the Football Association after being hit with a misconduct charge.

Cala was given a straight red card by referee Phil Dowd shortly before half-time in last Sunday's Premier League defeat at Sunderland after he conceded a penalty by pulling back Connor Wickham.

The Spanish centre-back has been charged in relation to an alleged incident in or around the tunnel area following the 4-0 loss at the Stadium of Light.

"Juan Cala has requested a personal hearing with the FA in relation to his FA misconduct charge, the date to be confirmed," Cardiff wrote on social media.

Cala joined the Bluebirds on a free transfer in early February after terminating his contract at Sevilla. The 24-year-old signed a deal until June 2016 and has made seven league appearances to date, scoring two goals.
