Canadiens set up decider
The Montreal Canadiens levelled up their play-off series against the Boston Bruins at 3-3 after thumping last season's runners-up 4-0.
Thomas Vanek struck twice for Montreal to add to goals from Lars Eller and Max Pacioretty, while Carey Price made 26 saves in recording his first shutout of this season's play-offs as the Canadiens set up a winner-takes-all game seven showdown in their Eastern Conference second-round series.
In the night's other game, the Anaheim Ducks won their third game on the trot to take a 3-2 lead against local rivals the Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference.
A brace from Devante Smith-Pelly plus further goals from Nick Bonino and Jakob Silfverberg saw Anaheim leading 4-1 midway through the second period, and although the Kings fought back with two goals from Marian Gaborik, the Ducks held on for a 4-3 victory.
