Canucks keep out Predators
The Vancouver Canucks sealed a 1-0 win over the Nashville Predators in Friday's NHL clash at the Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators started the day having conceded the fewest goals in the NHL but encountered an even more miserly opponent as the Canucks narrowly came out on top.
The Northwest Division leaders' clean sheet was maintained by Roberto Luongo, who made 23 saves, and Dale Weise delivered the win in the third period.
The Pittsburgh Penguins came from behind to win 3-1 at the Florida Panthers.
The host went in front through Mike Weaver but the next three goals were against them as Chris Kunitz, Matt Miskanen and Dustin Jeffrey netted.
The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1, Brandon Saad with the winner after Patrick Marleau and Viktor Stalberg cancelled each other out.
