Carayol hails Boro defence

Middlesbrough striker Muzzy Carayol has praised the work of the club's defenders in paving the way for a vastly-improved run of form.

Boro have won four of their last five Sky Bet Championship games to climb to within six points of the play-off places.

But while they have scored 10 goals in the process, they have conceded only two, and four clean sheets have provided firm foundations.

Carayol, who came off the bench to fire the Teessiders to a 2-0 victory at Blackpool on Saturday, told the club's official website: "In this league everyone goes through a blip. Hopefully we can keep our run going now.

"In terms of results it's better, but not much has changed really.

"I suppose we are starting to keep clean sheets and as an attacker it gives us a good base to work from. We have some really good attacking players."
