Carayol looking to impress
Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol is desperate to make up for lost time after finding himself in head coach Aitor Karanka's bad books.
The 25-year-old has been out in the cold after the Spaniard questioned his attitude, but he returned in impressive style to help Boro to a 2-0 Sky Bet Championship victory over Ipswich on Saturday.
Carayol told the Evening Gazette: "When I heard what the manager said, I was obviously disappointed because for me, it wasn't really the case.
"Exactly what happened will stay behind closed doors, but he is the manager and whatever he felt had happened he strongly believed that.
"I know what went on. I had my own view of it, but that's gone now, it's in the past.
"Obviously it is frustrating sitting in the stands, and more so if the team isn't winning. I wanted to be out there helping the boys but with what happened, I had to sit out a few."
