Cardiff fans launch protest

A group of Cardiff fans gathered outside Cardiff City Stadium before the Boxing Day 3-0 defeat against Southampton to protest against owner Vincent Tan.

Around 200 City supporters - many of whom carried banners - chanted their disapproval of Tan's policies as the Premier League new boys continue to struggle off the pitch.

The Malaysian bought a controlling share in the Welsh club back in 2010 and has become a figure of controversy since, notably when he announced the club would be changing its colours from blue to red.

In October, Tan sacked head of recruitment Iain Moody without consulting Mackay and last week issued an ultimatum that unless the Scot himself quit his job, he would be shown the door.

Mackay's exit was avoided thanks to the intervention of chairman Mehmet Dalman but with further crisis talks between Tan and Mackay due next week, a significant section of the Cardiff support convened to chant 'Tan Out.'
