Cardiff move excites Morrison

Sean Morrison claims to have been 'dead excited' about a move to Cardiff City from the moment he heard of their interest.

The 'commanding centre-half' started the 2014/15 campaign on the books at Reading, but is now with a Sky Bet Championship rival.

His performances over recent years convinced Cardiff that he was the man for them, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still took a trip to see the 23-year-old in action at Wigan Athletic on the opening day before making up his mind.

Morrison was made aware of his presence and admits to having had his head turned.

He said: \"I knew something was on the cards, but I trained with Reading on the Thursday morning and was then told to go to Cardiff. I was having my medical a couple of hours later.

\"From the moment I heard about Cardiff's interest I was dead excited.

\"Cardiff are a club heading in the right direction, they have a young, hungry manager and from what I've seen it's a great squad.

\"The quality is endless with the players they have in every position.\"

Morrison is aware that he faces a tough battle for a starting berth at Cardiff, with Mark Hudson, Matthew Connolly and Juan Cala providing stiff competition.

He added: \"I'm a commanding centre-half who loves aerial battles and one-to-one duels. I don't shy away from the ugly stuff, but I also like to pass and play when the time is right.

\"Nigel Adkins, the manager at Reading, wanted us to play from the back and it's the same in Cardiff.\"
