Brewer scored a career best 51 and joined an elite list of only Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson and Rick Barry to net more than 50-plus points and get more than six-plus steals in a game.

Brewer's haul was a significant improvement on his previous best of 29 and he led the Timberwolves to victory at the Target Center.

San Antonio Spurs beat Phoenix Suns 112-104 while Portland Trailblazers defeated Utah Jazz 111-99 and Golden State Warriors clinched a play-off berth after they eased to a 112-95 win over Los Angeles Lakers.
