Carter sinks Senators
Ottawa Senators recovered from three goals down to force overtime against the Los Angeles Kings but Jeff Carter had the final say.
Milan Michalek scored the equaliser for the Senators after Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Bobby Ryan had responded to first-period goals from Carter and Dustin Brown (two).
But 28 seconds into overtime, Carter deflected Mike Richards' shot home.
Alexander Steen's late slap shot settled a 3-2 victory for St Louis Blues over Chicago Blackhawks.
David Backes and Vladimir Tarasenko grabbed Blues' other goals while Chicago's Patrick Kane scored for the third straight game before Jonathan Toews levelled the scores.
With 21 seconds remaining, however, Steen drove home from just inside the circle.
Elsewhere, Sean Monahan scored one goal and set up another as Calgary Flames beat Montreal Canadiens 3-2.
The 18-year-old forward opened the scoring with Sven Baertschi and Curtin Glencross contributing Calgary's other goals. PK Subban and Lars Ellar netted for the Canadiens.
