Cas star Carney charged by RFL
Castleford’s in-form wing Justin Carney could miss his side's Tetley's Challenge Cup semi-final with Widnes this weekend after being charged by the Rugby Football League's Match Review Panel.
Carney has been accused of making a Grade B dangerous throw on London centre Thomas Minns in the 69th minute of the Tigers' 64-18 victory over the Broncos.
If an independent disciplinary tribunal finds Carney, 26, guilty, he is likely to be forced to watch his side's crucial cup tie at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday from the sidelines.
The former Sydney and Canberra wing had earlier proven his value to the Tigers with a first-half hat-trick that stunned the Broncos and took his try tally for the season to 17 in First Utility Super League.
Carney's team-mate Weller Hauraki has appealed his two-match suspension for recklessly striking with the knees and the second-rower's appeal will also be heard on Tuesday.
