Catrine booked for French mission
Queen Catrine is to go for the Prix d'Essai des Pouliches at Longchamp on Sunday week after being taken out of the QIPCO 1000 Guineas.
Trainer Charlie Hills, who will be represented at Newmarket by Kiyoshi, believes the daughter of Acclamation will be better suited by the likelihood of ease in the ground at the Paris venue for the French Classic.
Queen Catrine fared well on her previous visit to Longchamp when she was third to Indonesienne in the Prix Marcel Boussac on her final outing as a two-year-old.
Though she was only sixth to Sandiva in the Nell Gwyn Stakes on her reappearance at Newmarket last month, Hills expects her to do a lot better next time.
"She's going to France now," said the Lambourn trainer.
"She got a bit tired on her first run back. I would prefer to run her on a softer surface than it will be at Newmarket."
