France's Anne-Lise Caudal holds a two-shot lead after Thursday's opening round of the Ladies Scottish Open at Archerfield Links.
Caudal carded seven birdies and two bogeys in her round of 67, five under par, to top the leaderboard ahead of American Hannah Jun and Australian Sarah Kemp.
Scottish duo Carly Booth and Lynn Kenny were in an eight-strong group three shots off the pace on two under par.
Teenager Booth, fresh from her maiden professional win in a Ladies European Tour Access Series event in France, carded five birdies and three bogeys, while Kenny fired an eagle, three birdies and three bogeys in her 70.
Fellow Scot Catriona Matthew, who won by 10 shots last year, faces an uphill struggle to repeat such heroics after struggling to an opening 74.
Matthew was down in a share of 34th after carding two birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey six on the ninth.
