Cavendish to resume Giro bid
Mark Cavendish is back in action at the Giro d'Italia on Wednesday after a timely rest day following Monday's crash.
Team Sky rider and world road race champion Cavendish was nursing bruising and a gashed leg after he was involved in a pile-up caused by Roberto Ferrari in the closing moments of the stage.
Cavendish, who had suggested on Twitter that Ferrari should be banned from the race, took to the social networking site again to post pictures of his injuries.
Although painful, they are not serious enough to keep him out of the action.
Team Sky sporting director Steve de Jongh told the Daily Telegraph: "It looks like there's nothing broken.
"It was a really nasty crash, I think the guy who caused that should be punished. You cannot make a manoeuvre like that."
