Celtic v Dundee Utd preview

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is hoping to have Georgios Samaras back for the game with Dundee United on Sunday.

The Greece forward has missed the last two games with a virus but returned to training on Friday and is expected to start on the Parkhead bench.

Adam Matthews has had a scan on a hamstring injury while midfielder Nir Biton and winger James Forrest remain out with groin injuries.

Dundee United winger Gary Mackay-Steven is on course to return to the team after a chest infection kept him out of the Aberdeen game.

Defender John Souttar has been suffering from flu so will be assessed for the Scottish Premiership match nearer kick-off.

John Rankin and Paul Paton might not be risked ahead of the Scottish Cup final after missing the Dons defeat with knocks while Curtis Good (hip) and Calum Butcher (toe) remain out.

Manager Jackie McNamara and his team are sure to have one eye on their Scottish decider and a return to Celtic Park six days later on May 17.
