Chelsea to keep Cech around

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is planning to work with Peter Cech and Thibaut Courtois in 2014/15, meaning the former will not be sold.

It has been suggested that Cech could be allowed to move on this summer as Mourinho turns to Courtois as his first-choice shot-stopper.

With the Belgium international having spent the last three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, Chelsea feel the 22-year-old is now ready to become their number one.

That would leave Cech, a veteran of 10 years at Stamford Bridge, playing back-up.

At the age of 32 and with close to 500 Chelsea appearances under his belt, he is unlikely to be happy at playing second fiddle.

Mourinho, though, says he wants to have two world-class keepers on his books and has no intention of entering into transfer talks.

He said after a pre-season draw with RZ Pellets on Wednesday: \"My situation for the season is fantastic.

\"To have Cech and Courtois means we have the best young goalkeeper in the world and one of the top three or five most experienced keepers. For me and Chelsea, it's perfect.

\"Maybe one of them won't be happy, but Chelsea supporters will be happy and they're more important than players.

\"Of course, the window is the window, but I'm so happy with the situation.

\"If we don't have good players, we're in trouble. I'm paid to make decisions and I'm really happy with my situation.\"
