Chelsea v Liverpool preview

Chelsea will be without the suspended Ramires for Sunday's crunch Premier League clash with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazil midfielder picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Swansea and serves a one-match ban, with Frank Lampard likely to return to the starting line-up in his place.

Jose Mourinho is likely to rotate his options once more, with Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill in line to return in defence at the expense of Ashley Cole and David Luiz, while Fernando Torres could start up front against his former club.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has returned to training following his hamstring problem but this game will come too soon for the midfielder.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said: "Steven is progressing very well, so he will step up his work next week."

Rodgers also revealed that defender Jon Flanagan will remain on the sidelines with the hamstring injury that kept him out of the 2-1 defeat at Manchester City on Boxing Day.

Striker Daniel Sturridge (ankle), left-back Jose Enrique and centre-back Sebastian Coates (both knee) are also still absent so Rodgers will continue to bolster his ranks with reserve and academy players.

Winger Victor Moses is unavailable for Liverpool due to the terms of the loan agreement with Chelsea.
