Chepstow look again

Chepstow's jumps meeting on Friday is subject to a second inspection at 8am on Thursday.

Officials at the Monmouthshire circuit require a second opinion after an inspection on Wednesday morning proved inconclusive.

The going is heavy, waterlogged in places, with more rain forecast.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: "Things are still pretty wet, but we're keen to give it every chance and we'll have another look on Thursday.

"The forecast suggests we'll get some showers, some of which will be heavy. We're looking at anywhere between four and eight millimetres of rain.

"The crucial thing is Thursday's forecast looks much brighter. We could still get a few showers, but it looks like it will be brighter and breezier in between.

"We'll have to miss out a couple of fences and a couple of hurdles, but everyone seems keen to get racing on.

"With a few alterations and provided we don't get a huge amount of rain, we might just be able to do it, but we'll see where we are in the morning."
