Christie targets 2018 Games
Elise Christie is targeting a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang following her Sochi struggles.
Three times Christie was ruled to have performed illegal manouevres as she suffered heartbreak on the Russian ice.
The 23-year-old Scot bounced back by claiming 500metres silver at the world short-track speed skating championships in Montreal earlier this month.
She wrote on her Sportlobster blog: "You are supposed to reach your peak in speed skating after 10 years, so for me, I'll peak for the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
"There is a possibility of a switch to long track after 2018, but this is not something I am thinking about at the moment.
"I have a lot to work on before 2018, but I will be more experienced and will hopefully win the gold medal. I'll definitely give it my best shot."
Christie has thanked the public for their support after reopening her Twitter account following a tumultuous time in Sochi which saw her receive a torrent of cyber abuse following her crash with South Korea's Park Seung-hi in the 500m final.
"I have reopened my Twitter account after the World Championships, because I wanted to thank everyone," she added.
"I realise I won't always read good tweets, but this is what I have to try and focus on."
