Cilic reaches last eight

Home favourite Marin Cilic is through to the quarter-finals of the PBZ Zagreb Indoors after overcoming Dusan Lajovic.

The Croatian fifth seed squandered six break points in the first set but luckily only needed one break to take it 6-4 before claiming the second 7-5 to move through.

In the last 32, Czech Lukas Rosol made a surprise early exit as he was beaten 6-3 7-6 (7/2) by Israel's Dudi Sela.

Eighth seed Igor Sijsling, the only other seed in action on Wednesday, recovered from a scare as he fought back to beat Blaz Kavcic.

The Slovenian took the first set on a tie-break but his Dutch opponent came roaring back to claim a 6-7 (4/7) 6-3 6-4 victory.

Andrey Golubev was also a winner as he beat Victor Hanescu 7-6 (8/6) 4-6 7-6 (7/5) while Britain's Dan Evans was a 6-3 6-1 victor over Jan Hajek.
