Cirrus to be assessed at home
Corine Barande-Barbe's globetrotting superstar Cirrus Des Aigles began his journey back to France on Sunday morning as planned.
The eight-year-old was lame on crossing the line after winning his sixth Group One in the Coronation Cup at Epsom on Saturday.
Initial diagnosis was that the injury was not too serious but Barande-Barbe was keen to get her pride and joy back to her Chantilly base before making a final assessment.
Epsom clerk of the course Andrew Cooper tweeted: "Cirrus Des Aigles left @EpsomRacecourse at 3am this morning as planned to return to Chantilly. Will be reassessed by own vets when home."
